More retreat details

Well tomorrow's the day! Hope you're ready for "To Infinity and beyond... a look into how far God wants you to go!"

It's gonna be great. Few details.

  1. Don't forget to bring your 25$ for the weekend
  2. Parents... you can pick your kids up at the Galaxy Cinemas at the Brantford Mall at 4:30.
  3. The movie ticket, breakfast and lunch is included in your retreat money but bring your own snacks or money for popcorn at the theater if you'd like it
  4. Bring your sleeping bag... and...
  5. Pillow
  6. Air Mattress if you want one
  7. Toothbrush
  8. Board Games you might like to play
  9. Bible, pad of paper, pen
  10. Things that will help you smell clean in the morning
Be at the Freedom House City Center at 7pm tomorrow evening. If there is ever a situation where the outside doors happen to be locked (as the summer hours can be a bit weird) ... you can call Sarah (519 209-2537) or Trevor Nelson's (519 209-2536) cell phone and we'll pop right up to open the doors.

Last Week of Youth before Summer...

Well, the time has not come... We are heading into the last week of youth before we take a small break for the summer holidays!!  This week will be a great night as we will be meeting out at the Reimer's home (see address below) for a campfire hang out night!! You can feel free to bring your bathing suits as there is a pool there to swim in.  But we will also be playing some great outdoor games, hanging out around the fire and chatting about the exciting NEW Youth Programs we will be running come September...  The night is going to be a great night for all so please make it a point to be there!! Please bring drinks for yourself as the leaders will be bringing everything food wise you need for a great night around the campfire :) We will be running from 7-10 this week just so everyone is aware and we will have anyone that will be going into Grade 6, 7 or 8 next year with us as well!!   See you all on Friday night.... ~ Distinct Youth Leaders 51...

Freshwind Update...

Good evening all, First and foremost, happy week leading up to Freshwind 2017!!  Obviously we will not be having Youth at the church this week as we will be in Toronto.  If you are not coming to Freshwind, you will have the night off (as unfortunate as that is)... Here are the IMPORTANT notes for Freshwind: 1. Meeting at the Nelson's home (8 Brier Cres.) for  4:15 SHARP  on Thursday.  Please be sure you've eaten before arriving as we will not be stopping for food until after service (10:00 or so). 2. Try not to go too crazy with bags as EVERY seat is full in vehicles so luggage space will be at a premium. 3. What to bring   - Money for your meals...  We will need to buy 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 2 dinners  (and typically 1 snack meal at McD's after service on Thursday) - Clean cloths for EVERYDAY of the conference.  - Deodorant and more deordorant -  Bible, paper and pen(s) - Blankets if you have some t...

Youth Night on the Streets this Friday!

I wanted to invite you guys from "Distinct" out this Friday Night on the streets for Flippin' Friday! It's a unique downtown experience where we serve food, meet "colorful" people and get to share the love of Jesus in a practical way. So here's the plan. Let's meet at Freedom Gate Apartments ( the old Freedom House building... NOT the mall ) at 8:45 in the common meeting area. That's through the fence on the non-parking side of the building. We'll meet as a youth ministry for 15 minutes or so and I'll go over what's going to happen that night and then we'll head upstairs to the apartment of our missionaries Steve Frank and Keith Cripps. We spend the next hour praying and hearing God for what he wants for the night. Then at 10pm... we hit the streets. Our youth leaders will be there to make sure it's a safe environment... but I will warn you... crazy things CAN happen. It would be great if you plan to be there until midn...
