Freedom House Youth!

So here's what is going down this Friday Night. Girls It's sleepover night at Krissy's House (71 Strathcona Ave). You just need to bring a sleeping bag, a pillow and some snacks! It will be a great night of sleeping I'm sure. Or maybe not so much sleep. You can get dropped off at 8pm and please plan to be picked up by 10am on Saturday. If your parents would like to get ahold of Krissy, our number is (519) 720-0645. Guys We're going to be hanging and Rockbanding over at the Nelson's house. You can get dropped off at 8pm also and plan to get picked up at 11ish. Bring some snacks and be prepared to have me sing you punks under the table. Mu haha.

Guys! Great night last night. And today... my face is as smooth as a baby's butt. Actually it's got a bit of stubble already... but that's faces for ya. Hey, here's the "Good O' Meter" video from last night. Remember that next Wednesday is our Youth Christmas party at Sarah and Trevor's house. Here are the things that you need to bring 1) Wear a cheesy Christmas sweater (on it doesn't HAVE to be Christmas... just cheesy) like my friends here... Pretty awesome stuff! The cheesiest sweater gets to go LAST (which is good) in our gag gift exchange. Which brings me to #2 2) Bring 2 wrapped gag gifts. Can be ANYTHING no matter how big or small. They just have to be wrapped. Something from around the house. Something from a dollar store. Just 2 interesting Christmas gifts. We'll be playing the "STEAL A GIFT" game! It's awesome. You'll love it 3) Snacks. Everyone brings a snack and we'll have LOTS to go around! Cya t

Don't forget that this Wednesday, we're having our youth service at Freedom House. It's our last youth service of the year (and at the Big Blue House ever!!!) NEXT Wednesday, we're having a Christmas party... I'll tell you more details about it on Wednesday @ youth! See ya'll then! dave

This week for youth, we're headed to Brantford's amazing newly opened Harmony Square skating rink for an ice skating party. I'll be there at 6:30 if you need to get dropped off early but we'll be headed out on the ice at 7. Pick up and drop off as normal. It might not be a bad idea to bring some money with you to grab a hot chocolate over at Coffee Cultures right beside the ice! See ya then! Dave

Hey guys... I told you I would post up what we learned about last night... "Apostles Creed". Sometime over the next week... take a look... and begin to think about WHAT you REALLY believe about these things. Had a BLAST last night! I'll let you know shortly what we're doing next week for our RAK Night! I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.

This week we're meeting at the church to worship together again. Last week we began to learn a bit more about WHAT the church really was. Where did we come from? What did we look like? This week, we're gonna take it a step further. We're gonna look at WHO in the world we even are. It might sound basic (the right answer is always Jesus right?)... but when you say, "I'm a Christian", what does that even mean. This is 3rd Day's "The Creed"... check it out

Don't forget that this week is Youth Small Group Night. We'll be meeting at my house...71 Strathcona Ave... starting at 7 and going until 8:15 or so. Come ready to chat, learn and play... the trombone. OK maybe not the trombone... I want you to take a look at this video. It kinda makes you think a bit about who we are. So THIS Wednesday is Bowling Night for youth. Here's the plan. Please be early for youth this week as we have lanes book at Star Lanes (Map below) from 7 until 8pm. So try to get to the alley by 6:45 so we can get our awesome shoes on (AMANDA i'm looking your direction) and be ready to roll by 7. It's 5 dollars for the night. So please have your money in your hand when you get there... so we can pay for the lanes when you get there. Personally... I want to see who looks foxier in the bowling shoes... Will or Sam. Hey guys... I BELIEVE I know what we're going to do tonight for our youth RAK. So please bring: 1) As many umbrellas as you, your parents and your dog owns 2) A coat in case it rains... cus you JUST might get a little damp See ya tonight at 7pm! Parent dropoff is 7... pickup is 8:30 (both at Freedom House) SHARP!

The bonfire was a great night... but this week is the FIRST EVER FREEDOM HOUSE YOUTH SERVICE! Be the at the church for 7pm sharp this Wednesday night! You won't want to miss it!

This should be awesome! OK because you guys were ridiculously awesome at cleaning and serving the grocery store last week... this week... we're scrubbing toilets!!! OK no we're not doing that. We 're having a BONFIRE!!! We'll be meeting at Anne Marie's House 218 Brant School Road (which is a little bit out of town so that we can have a great big fire!) There's a map below if you need it. Be there at 7pm sharp and arrange for your ride to pick you up at 8:30ish! We'll be eating smores and hot dogs and playing some outdoor games so make sure you wear warm clothes (as it's fall eh) and even something that you don't mind getting dirty (just in case) . We'll bring the food if you'll bring your own drinks and lawn chair if you have one. Deal? You should bring a friend too as it's gonna be a party. By the way... I should tell you how proud I was of ALL OF YOU for how amazing you showed God's love in practical way last week at Price C

Here's the deal. Last week we all gave our ideas about our very first Freedom House Youth RAK Night. And while the suggestion of "walking around in speedos giving away Rubber Duckies" WAS an awesome idea (cough cough) here's where we're RAK attacking tonight. Please be at the Price Chopper ( 50 Market Street South right across from the Casino) at 7pm sharp (even earlier if possible) One team will be bagging groceries One team will be doing carryouts to cars One team will be handing out quarters for carts (and if it rains) One team will be holding umbrellas so people don't get wet as they are headed to their cars! And EVERYONE will get a "You've been RAK attacked card" We'll be done at 8pm and then will walk over to the Wendy's in the same plaza. You can have your parents pick you up at Wendy's at 8:30! A number of you guys were at the 1st Freedom House RAK Day on Saturday where we gave away pop, cookies, car washes and cards that looked kinda like this... So why did we do that? Any ideas? You should leave a comment or answer the poll on the right hand side of the blog. Also this week, we're meeting at my house 7:00- 8:15 to chat more about it. OK... it's time for Freedom House Youth ( or FHY... or fuh huh yuh if you sound it out) to get underway for the fall! Youth is going to look at WHOLE lot different this year than it did last year. We're going to have our own worship nights, we're going to be hanging out together a whole lot more, and just like everyone else at Freedom House... we're going to be doing Random Acts of Kindness too! More on RAK soon... But listen... you should be check the youth blog all the time. I'll be updating it a whole lot with what's coming up, funny You Tube clips, and stuff to chat about.
