It's LOVE month

I don't know if you've noticed... but love is everywhere in February. And at Distinct... it's no different. The next 3 weeks, we're going to explore MANY aspects of love.

This Friday: THE BAD

We're going to be breaking into small groups with those who are our same gender and age group... and we're going to talk about the pitfalls of love, sex and relationship as a teenager and how to resist temptation and deal with our "feelings" God's way.

This is going to be a VERY open... VERY honest... and VERY important and impacting night where we plan on being very real so come prepared for a VERY memorable night at youth!

Next Friday: THE GOOD

We'll go back into our small groups and with a similar tone and frankness... we're going to discus the Good part of love, sex and relationships. What we should be looking for in a boyfriend/girlfriend/future spouse... how God sees our physical selves in a GOOD way and more.

THEN... we're going to start preparing for...

The NEXT Friday: The Banquet

Freedom House Youth is going to be hosting (and attending) a formal banquet and Murder Mystery Night. We are going to sell tickets to our parents and family for 10$ a plate. We are going to prepare the spaghetti dinner. We are going to host and act in an interactive murder mystery throughout the night... and we're going to do it all in our formal best. Suits, ties, dresses, makeup, jewelery... the works.

This night is a fundraiser for YOU, because over the Easter Weekend we're going to this...



It's called the "Freshwind" Youth Conference April 1st-3rd in Toronto. We're going to be staying in Toronto for 2 nights and will be worshiping with HUNDREDS of other hungry youth from across Ontario. There are a number of speakers and worship teams including Bobby Conner who is an amazingly gifted prophetic voice and the Grammy nominated band (and worship group) Leeland.

VERY shorty I will give you the cost for the weekend. We'll need to have our money in by March 1st for the early bird rate.

Last Week of Youth before Summer...

Well, the time has not come... We are heading into the last week of youth before we take a small break for the summer holidays!!  This week will be a great night as we will be meeting out at the Reimer's home (see address below) for a campfire hang out night!! You can feel free to bring your bathing suits as there is a pool there to swim in.  But we will also be playing some great outdoor games, hanging out around the fire and chatting about the exciting NEW Youth Programs we will be running come September...  The night is going to be a great night for all so please make it a point to be there!! Youth Night on the Streets this Friday!

I wanted to invite you guys from "Distinct" out this Friday Night on the streets for Flippin' Friday! It's a unique downtown experience where we serve food, meet "colorful" people and get to share the love of Jesus in a practical way. So here's the plan. Let's meet at Freedom Gate Apartments ( the old Freedom House building... NOT the mall ) at 8:45 in the common meeting area. That's through the fence on the non-parking side of the building. We'll meet as a youth ministry for 15 minutes or so and I'll go over what's going to happen that night and then we'll head upstairs to the apartment of our missionaries Steve Frank and Keith Cripps. We spend the next hour praying and hearing God for what he wants for the night. Then at 10pm... we hit the streets. Our youth leaders will be there to make sure it's a safe environment... but I will warn you... crazy things CAN happen. It would be great if you plan to be there until midn

"Oh No... I forgot the CRANBERRIES" RAK Night

Have you ever been at Aunt Beatrice's house for Thanksgiving and you're just about to sit down at the table for the feast when someone shouts out in horror... "Oh NO... I forgot the CRANBERRIES!!" This Friday Night at Youth... we make sure that this will not happen to homes in Brantford. How? It's RAK Night! We'll be meeting at the Freedom House City Center at 7pm and heading out into town to do Random Acts of Kindness by giving away Cranberries and through it, reminding people that God LOVES them. After... we'll be headed back to the church for some fun and snacks (so bring money for tuck shop!). Make sure your ride picks you up before the mall doors get locked at 10pm! See ya then!
