Youth is back!

Well welcome guys it's time for youth to begin again! Here's a quick look at what's coming up in September for the next couple of weeks.



So that means that this Friday we'll be at the Nelson's (4 Tanglewood Terrace) and the Haley's from 7-10pm. In fact that's what time youth is going to be going from this year. 7 until 10pm on Friday Night's. The next week, we'll be joining up with Calvary Church in Cambridge for their GIGANTIC youth kick-off complete with bands, giveaways and amazing fun. Check out the Facebook event here. The first week of October, we're going to be doing our 1st Freedom House youth service of the year... where I'm gonna start talking with you guys about "Who YOU are" and "who WE are".

Part of that process is going to be deciding what to name of the all-new Freedom House Youth Group. On our Facebook group, I've asked the question... "What should our new name be and why". Check it out here... I'd love to hear your thoughts. Start discussing.

We'll tell you more about the upcoming year on Friday Night... but if you missed the announcement on Sunday... there is going to be a slightly different feel with the youth leadership team this year. We (Dave and Krissy) are still going to be around and will still be very involved with youth at the church and we'll still be with you guys often...

...but Trevor and Sarah Nelson, Matt and Nicki Haley, Hannah Bjorkman and Jenean Kilgore will be the ones running the week by week youth program this year! They are amazing people and leaders and it's gonna be it's going to be an awesome year! See you guys Friday Night!

Last Week of Youth before Summer...

Well, the time has not come... We are heading into the last week of youth before we take a small break for the summer holidays!!  This week will be a great night as we will be meeting out at the Reimer's home (see address below) for a campfire hang out night!! You can feel free to bring your bathing suits as there is a pool there to swim in.  But we will also be playing some great outdoor games, hanging out around the fire and chatting about the exciting NEW Youth Programs we will be running come September...  The night is going to be a great night for all so please make it a point to be there!! Youth Night on the Streets this Friday!

I wanted to invite you guys from "Distinct" out this Friday Night on the streets for Flippin' Friday! It's a unique downtown experience where we serve food, meet "colorful" people and get to share the love of Jesus in a practical way. So here's the plan. Let's meet at Freedom Gate Apartments ( the old Freedom House building... NOT the mall ) at 8:45 in the common meeting area. That's through the fence on the non-parking side of the building. We'll meet as a youth ministry for 15 minutes or so and I'll go over what's going to happen that night and then we'll head upstairs to the apartment of our missionaries Steve Frank and Keith Cripps. We spend the next hour praying and hearing God for what he wants for the night. Then at 10pm... we hit the streets. Our youth leaders will be there to make sure it's a safe environment... but I will warn you... crazy things CAN happen. It would be great if you plan to be there until midn

"Oh No... I forgot the CRANBERRIES" RAK Night

Have you ever been at Aunt Beatrice's house for Thanksgiving and you're just about to sit down at the table for the feast when someone shouts out in horror... "Oh NO... I forgot the CRANBERRIES!!" This Friday Night at Youth... we make sure that this will not happen to homes in Brantford. How? It's RAK Night! We'll be meeting at the Freedom House City Center at 7pm and heading out into town to do Random Acts of Kindness by giving away Cranberries and through it, reminding people that God LOVES them. After... we'll be headed back to the church for some fun and snacks (so bring money for tuck shop!). Make sure your ride picks you up before the mall doors get locked at 10pm! See ya then!
